Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant is expected to name his 55-member provisional squad within the next 48 hours ahead of the African Cup of Nations finals, which kicks off in 30 days in Ivory Coast. The squad, a mixture of local and foreign-based stars, will enter camp on December 26th in Lusaka. After the local training session, the team will head to Saudi Arabia for final preparations before the tournament. Grant, who has only lost once during his tenure with the Chipolopolo boys, will drill his team in Lusaka during the local camp before naming the final squad that will travel to Saudi Arabia and then to Ivory Coast for the AFCON showdown. Zambia, having missed the previous three editions, is expected to be a surprise package at the tournament. It will be interesting to see which players make Avram Grant's provisional list and battle it out for their places during the Lusaka camp. The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has demonstrated its commitment to providing its teams with all necessary support, including enough time to prepare before heading for any tournament, including those for women's and junior teams.
