This slight dip reflects a broader trend within the top ranks of African nations, with all eight of the continent's highest-ranked teams losing a single point. The Southern African powerhouse, however, finds solace in their ascension on the CAF rankings, climbing one position from 7th to 6th thanks to their dominant WAFCON qualifying performance. The 2022 WAFCON bronze medalists and 2023 World Cup debutants can attribute their CAF ranking boost to their impressive double-legged triumph over Angola. This victory serves as a springboard for the Copper Queens' next footballing challenge in February 2024, where they will face Ghana in a back-to-back Olympic qualifier.
