Former Copper Queen’s Captain and 400 Meters African Champion, Kabange Mupopo has marked a return to football after an 8-year break. Mupopo, who is now playing in the FAZ Women’s Super League Division, announced her return to the pitch by scoring a remarkable brace for Green Buffaloes Women FC in their 5-0 triumph against Zanaco FC yesterday. The former Captain, led the Copper Queens to their first ever WAFCON Tournament which took place in Namibia. Mupopo had temporarily been absent from football in order to pursue athletics sprinting, where she went on to win gold in the 400m at the 2015 All-Africa Games. As Mupopo fully embraces her return to football, fans are eagerly anticipating her performance and pondering the possibility of her rejoining the Copper Queen’s team as they prepare for the 2024 WAFCON Tournament.
