The Football Association of Zambia have applauded two promising referees who recently concluded their officiating duties at the African Schools Football Championship | COSAFA Qualifier in Harare, Zimbabwe 2023. FAZ's General Secretary, Reuben Kamanga, accompanied by FAZ Referees Manager Aziph Banda, warmly welcomed the talented duo. 17-year-old Jacinta Makasa, from Kasama, took charge of multiple matches, including the Boys’ third and fourth fixtures. In parallel, 18-year-old Rafael Mbotela played a crucial role as the central referee in the Girls’ final, witnessing South Africa's triumphant 3-1 victory over Botswana. Kamanga expressed pride in their success, offering words of encouragement, stating, “We are proud of your success at the schools championship and I believe you are on the right path, continue working hard and surely you’ve started your career early and you can only get to great heights,” Kamanga said.
