Zambian FIFA referee Diana Chikotesha secures an AFCON 2023 appointment, joining a distinguished group of officials for the tournament in Côte d’Ivoire. Having showcased her skills at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the CAF Women’s Champions League, Chikotesha is one of the two female referees selected, alongside Carine Atezambong of Cameroon, among a pool of 28 assistant referees. Zambia is set to make a return to AFCON, igniting their Group F journey with a clash against DR Congo on January 17, followed by a captivating encounter with Tanzania just four days later. They will wrap up their group F engagement with a date against the Atlas Lions of Morocco on 24 January.
