Eastern, Northern, and Lusaka Province teams have exhibited strong performances at the U-17 Girls Provincial Trials that are a a crucial stage in assembling the U-17 Women's National Team for the impending World Cup Qualifiers. Eastern Province shined with a 2-0 victory over North Western and a commanding 6-1 triumph against Luapula, propelling them to the top of Group A. Meanwhile, Lusaka Province also secured wins, defeating Luapula 2-0 and narrowly overcoming Western 1-0 at Sunset Stadium. The two Provinces are set to clash in today's fixtures. In Group B, Northern Province took the lead, clinching a 3-0 win against Copperbelt before a goalless draw with Muchinga, placing them at the helm with four points. Southern province followed closely, having secured a 3-0 victory over Central Province. The action unfolds at Sunset Stadium and NASDEC ground in Lusaka today. Post the matches, a panel of selectors will curate a roster of 22 players set to confront the All-Stars team on Saturday, January 6, 2023, at Sunset Stadium.
