The Inspector General of Police, Grapheal Musamba, has made assurances to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) regarding the crackdown on individuals and organizations involved in the illegal production, sale, and distribution of counterfeit KoPa replica products. Musamba emphasized that intellectual property crimes have cost FAZ millions of kwacha in losses, and the police are committed to working together with FAZ to apprehend offenders and put an end to this illicit trade. During a courtesy call from FAZ president Andrew Kamanga and general secretary Reuben Kamanga, Musamba affirmed the police's dedication to addressing intellectual property theft, stating, "We will be on the lookout for intellectual property thieves." He also expressed the police force's support for FAZ, acknowledging the association's role as the chief administrator of football in Zambia and the enabling environment it has created for the sport. Highlighting the significance of FAZ's activities, Musamba emphasized the police's commitment to providing security and assistance, recognizing FAZ's pivotal role in promoting football in the country. In addition, Musamba underscored the shared national pride in the Chipolopolo's participation in the Africa Cup of Nations, indicating the importance of supporting FAZ and the national team. In response, FAZ president Andrew Kamanga expressed gratitude for the support and open-door policy extended by the police. Kamanga presented a full set of KoPa replicas to Musamba, emphasizing the association's commitment to combating crimes related to intellectual property.
