The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organizing Committee (COCAN) has introduced the Main Media Centre (MMC) concept which will serve as the main centre for media services during the 2023 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), in Côte d’Ivoire. Strategically located at Palais de la Culture de Treichville in Abidjan, the MMC aims to provide an optimal working environment for media professionals including Photographers and Broadcasters. The facility will also be used to hold all pre-match press conferences and non-match day media events. Meanwhile, Veron Mosengo-Omba, CAF General Secretary, has emphasized the pivotal role of media in the tournament's success and the importance of streamlining their experience through the MMC. "The MMC will centralize media events and services. This means media do not need to travel between the two venues for pre-match media conferences," he said. The MMC officially opens its doors on January 10, 2024, three days before the tournament's opening match. And with a capacity for over 500 media, the MMC underscores CAF and COCAN's commitment to facilitating the work of the more than 3,000 accredited media personnel for the competition.
