Fashion Sakala's younger brother, Evans Sakala, showcased his goal-scoring prowess for his club, Genesis United, by securing a triumphant start to the year. Sakala netted twice, opening his scoring account just 27 minutes into the first half with a precision finish from a Khuzwayo Zulu through ball. Facing challenges in form due to a previous injury, Sakala's redemption continued as he completed his brace five minutes into the second half, igniting jubilant celebrations. Despite a penalty goal by Lingson Zulu for the hosts, Genesis United sealed the match with a 2-1 victory. The team has struggled to find their footing in the provincial FAZ topflight league after clinching the 2022/23 provincial division two title. And Genesis United's head coach, Timothy Phiri, attributed the struggle in performance to the absence of key players whose cards are yet to be issued.
