In a thrilling face-off during the second Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea locked horns in a captivating battle that culminated in a 1-1 draw. Iban Salvador initially put Equatorial Guinea ahead in the 36th minute, but their lead was short-lived, as Napoli's Victor Osimhen equalized less than two minutes later. Despite missing key players like Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Boniface, as well as Sadiq Umar, Nigeria displayed commendable effort in their match against Equatorial Guinea. However, the Super Eagles fell short of overcoming a resilient Equatorial Guinea team, primarily due to missed opportunities that allowed the latter to maintain their strength throughout the entire game. Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea have both earned a point in their match, leaving them tied in Group A of the AFCON tournament. Meanwhile, Ivory Coast occupies the top spot with 3 points following their impressive 2-0 win against Guinea Bissau last night, pushing Guinea Bissau to the bottom of the group.
