Patson Daka, the Zambian striker who plays club football with Leicester City has been voted the Skybet Championship PFA Fans' Player of the Month award for December. His impressive performances with the Championship leaders, Leicester City, solidified his leading position in the race for December's honor. Daka, who earned his first full Championship debut in December, played seven games for the Foxes, contributing four goals and two assists. During this period, he established himself as a key starter for Brendan Rodgers' men. The Zambian international secured the award through fan votes worldwide, outshining several other prominent contenders, including Adam Armstrong of Southampton, Leeds United's Crysencio Summerville, Plymouth's Morgan Whittaker, his own teammate Stephy Mavididi, and Coventry City's Tatsuhiro Sakamoto. This personal accolade serves as a significant motivational boost for Daka, who is currently representing Zambia at the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast. He is set to make his senior debut in the competition on Wednesday when the Chipolopolo Boys face the Democratic Republic of Congo in their opening match. Daka previously lifted the trophy at the U-20 level on home soil in 2017. Carrying his December hot streak into the tournament, Daka scored in a friendly against Cameroon in Saudi Arabia and has netted for Zambia in their past four official matches. With his confidence soaring, Daka hopes to replicate his club form on the continental stage and help Zambia achieve success in the Africa Cup of Nations. Congratulations, Patson Daka!
