Namibia has become the first Southern African country to secure a clean victory at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after they beat Tunisia 1-0 in a shocking late win. Namibia's Deon Hotto scored in the 88th minute of the match to put his side in the lead and shatter Tunisia's hopes of securing an anticipated victory. Although the Southern African team nearly doubled their lead shortly after, the goal was disallowed due to an offside call. With this victory, Namibia now leads Group E with a perfect 3 points from their opening match. The determination of their top position in the standings will hinge on the outcome of the South Africa vs Mali match.
