Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts
The Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, Hon. Elvis Nkandu, MP, who is currently on an official mission in Muchinga Province, has donated football jerseys and sports kits in Mpika, Muchinga Province. During his visit, Hon. Nkandu took the opportunity to advocate for increased corporate involvement in sponsoring community teams, particularly in rural areas. His call for support aims to enhance the sporting infrastructure and opportunities for budding talents in these regions. And Lucy Chipasha, captain of the Doves Women's football team, the beneficiaries of the donated jerseys, acknowledged the Minister's intervention and expressed gratitude for the timely support. Chipasha highlighted the challenging conditions that lower league teams face in meeting their fixture obligations and expressed the team's appreciation for the assistance. Meanwhile, Muchinga Province Minister Henry Sikazwe revealed his proactive efforts in engaging local businesses to contribute to the advancement of sports within the province. He emphasized that this collaborative approach, will play a pivotal role in fostering the growth of sports and providing better prospects for aspiring athletes in Muchinga.
