Zambian international Augustine Mulenga is on the verge of a fairytale return to his former club AmaZulu FC after a short stint at Chippa United in the DStv Premiership. The 34-year-old forward, who has made 16 appearances for Chippa this season, providing two assists and earning two Sofascore Team of the Week selections, looks set to reunite with Usuthu, pending a routine medical checkup. Mulenga first joined AmaZulu in October 2020 on a free transfer after leaving Orlando Pirates. He enjoyed a successful spell at the Durban-based club before leaving in July 2022. He then returned to Zambia for a stint with NAPSA Stars, where his strong performances caught the eye of Chippa, who brought him back to South Africa last July. This potential return to AmaZulu could mark the final chapter in a well-travelled career. Mulenga previously played for Zambian giants Nkana and Nkwazi before embarking on his South African adventure, which also saw him feature for Pirates. A return to AmaZulu would offer Mulenga the chance to play for a familiar club and potentially end his career on a high note.
