Cape Verde has become the first country to secure its place in the Africa Cup of Nations next stage after clinching a commanding 3-0 victory over Mozambique. This triumph, coupled with their previous upset against Ghana, not only grants the Blue Sharks top position in Group B but also ensures their spot in the round of 16. Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, the ex-Manchester United forward popularly known as Bebe, showcased his precision by delivering a stunning free kick from around 35 meters out and finding the back of the net in the 32nd minute. Captain Ryan Mendes extended their lead shortly after halftime at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium. And Kevin Pina sealed the victory with yet another impressive long-range shot, securing a 3-0 triumph in the 69th minute. With six points after two group matches, Cape Verde leads the pack, leaving Egypt, Ghana, and Mozambique trailing behind.
