Zambian forward Augustine Mulenga has made a sensational return to AmaZulu FC after a brief spell with Chippa United in the DStv Premiership, the club confirmed on Saturday. Mulenga, who joined Chippa from Napsa Stars in June 2023, returns to familiar territory at Usuthu, where he enjoyed a successful two-year stint from 2020 to 2022. Following his initial departure from AmaZulu, he had a short return to Zambia with Napsa Stars before Chippa snapped him up. Chippa United announced Mulenga's departure on Friday, acknowledging his well-traveled career: "We are honored to have been a part of his illustrious career and to have witnessed his greatness," the club stated. "The Eastern Cape will cherish the memories created during his stay. We wish Augustine all the best in his future endeavors and adventures. Farewell and thank you." AmaZulu celebrated his return with a video on social media showcasing his goals from his first stint with the club. The 34-year-old attacker is expected to add much-needed firepower to AmaZulu's attack, currently sitting in 7th place in the league. Mulenga's return marks a homecoming for the fan favorite, and his experience and goal-scoring prowess could prove crucial in AmaZulu's quest to climb the DStv Premiership table.
