Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant has expressed the significance of the upcoming match against Tanzania as it serves as a crucial determinant for Zambia's progression to the next round in the Africa Cup of Nations. “Zambia did not participate in the Africa Cup for a long time, too long for us, it will not happen again. The first game was against a very strong team, we did well, we scored a goal they equalized. The first game I am happy, but the second game is always very important for us because we want to go to the next round," he said. Speaking during a pre-match press conference, Grant said the performance and outcome of their opening game against the Democratic Republic of Congo is a thing of the past and their focus is on the showdown against Tanzania tomorrow at 19:00 hours. And the Coach acknowledged Tanzania's good form on the field despite their 3-0 loss against Morocco in their opening match. “To be honest I do not know, I know they want to play on the pitch. I was impressed with them, they are hard to beat, I think except the 3-0 against Morocco they were good,” Grant said. Meanwhile, Grant revealed that he believes the firing of the Tanzanian coach will not impact the match at all. “Every coach comes with his ideas I do not know about this coach (interim Tanzania coach), but we need to prepare for everything," he added. Grant further mentioned the diminishing gap between traditional powerhouses and smaller teams stating, “The days when the big teams destroyed the small teams have finished in Europe and in Africa it is finished. The big teams remain the big teams, but others have closed the gap." Zambia will play Tanzania on Sunday at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro in a 19:00 hours kick off.
