For the second consecutive week, young Zambian striker Kingstone Mutandwa has been named in the Cagliari first team squad for their Serie A match against Frosinone on Sunday. Mutandwa, a prolific goalscorer who previously starred for Atletico Lusaka, has been a regular feature for the Cagliari youth team and caught the eye of senior team coach Claudio Ranieri with his impressive performances. Last week, he was an unused substitute as Cagliari secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Bologna, boosting their bid for survival in the Italian top flight. Cagliari currently sit 17th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone. With every point crucial in their fight to stay up, Ranieri is clearly keen to utilize all the attacking firepower at his disposal, and Mutandwa's inclusion in the squad suggests he may soon be given his chance to shine on the big stage. The young Zambian has already trained with the first team on several occasions during the first half of the season, and his development in Italy has been impressive. His eye for goal and composure in front of the net have not gone unnoticed, and there is a growing belief that he could soon become a regular fixture in the senior side.
