The Zambia U-17 Women's National Team is set to go head-to-head with Tanzania on 3rd February in the opening leg of the 2024 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Under the guidance of Coach Carol Kanyemba and the technical bench, the 34-member provisional team is undergoing rigorous training at NASDEC grounds while awaiting the final squad selection. In a recent address from the Football Association of Zambia President's Corner, Andrew Kamanga underscored the significance of investing in junior women's teams as a pivotal strategy for the growth and success of women's football. Kamanga expressed confidence in the U-17 girls and urged them to draw inspiration from the accomplishments of the Copper Queens. "We have no doubt that the U-17 girls are drawing from the success story of the Copper Queens who have already participated at the Olympics and FIFA World Cup," he said. The initial leg of the competition will take place on home turf, with the return fixture set to unfold a week later.
