Zambian super league Log leaders Zesco United have secured a major transfer coup by re-signing club legend Jesse Jackson Were, with an official announcement expected imminently. The prolific Kenyan striker, who etched his name in Zesco history as their all-time top scorer during his previous stint, will return to the club after a his spell with Kansanshi Dynamos. Reports from Solwezi suggest Were's high wages proved unsustainable for the relegation-battling outfit, paving the way for his dramatic return to Ndola. According to Wami Katanga, Were will put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the option to extend. His arrival comes at a crucial juncture for Zesco, who recently saw their leading scorer, Kelvin Kampamba Mubanga, depart for Libya.
