Zambia men's national team captain Lubambo Musonda has said in a pre-match press briefing that Zambia has prepared adequately to record victory against Morocco in Wednesday's crash in the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations. "Tomorrow's game is very important," Musonda said. "We are looking forward to it. We have prepared adequately for the game and we will do our best to win." Zambia are yet to win at this year's tournament in Ivory Coast after drawing their opening two matches against DR Congo and Tanzania with a uniform scoreline of 1-1. Heading into the final group match, in which they just need to avoid defeat to book a place in the last 16 of the competition, there is concern from some sections of soccer fans who feel Morocco are favorites to carry all three points on Wednesday. Musonda, however, is confident that Zambia can get the job done. "There is some doubt amongst fans," he said, "but as players we believe in ourselves that we can go through this. How we played in the last game, we were a player down in the first half, but the belief that we have pushed us to get a goal in the second half and get a draw. So as players, we will continue to believe in ourselves." Zambia and Morocco are set for an interesting encounter, and Musonda says that the team is aware of what's ahead of them. "It will be an interesting game between two good teams," he said. "Of course we are prepared for what's coming ahead of us and we know what to do on the pitch." Zambia will battle Morocco on Wednesday with kick-off set for 22:00 at Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro for a place in the last 16 of the competition. Knowing that a point is enough for Zambia, the Chipolopolo Boys will be hoping to put on a strong performance and secure their place in the knockout stages.
