Zambia's national team coach, Avram Grant, has declared war ahead of their final Group F clash against an already-qualified Morocco in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations. Speaking in a pre-match interview, Grant dismissed the underdog tag and vowed his team will fight tooth and nail for the points they desperately need to secure a spot in the knockout stage. "In my coaching career, I have never given up on anything," Grant stated "So we will fight for points, even if everyone expects us to lose." He acknowledged Morocco's superior form on paper, but emphasized the potential within his own squad. "Yes, Morocco is better than us on paper, no doubt about it. But I have a good crop of players who are good on the pitch. In the last game, with a red card which was not a red card, we played good football," he said, highlighting the team's resilience in the face of adversity. "The players gave everything and showed good character, and I'm proud of them. Let's see what happens tomorrow. I know everybody expects us to lose because we are playing the best team in Africa, but we will fight for the points tomorrow." Grant's focus, however, remains firmly on his own team's preparation. "We shall concentrate on ourselves; we know that Morocco is better than us. In football, it's not always that the best teams win," he remarked, hinting at a potential upset in the offing. With Morocco's qualification already secured, the pressure lies solely on Zambia. A draw would be enough, but Grant is adamant about aiming for a win. "This is an important game for us. Morocco qualified already so they don't have anything to lose. We need these points for us to qualify," he stated. "We shall give our best on the pitch. Morocco has a fantastic team. I have watched almost all their games. They are the best team in Africa, no doubt about that. They have a good coach and play fantastic football," Grant acknowledged Morocco's strengths while underlining his own team's resolve.
