ZESCO United has announced the return of prolific Kenyan International striker, Jesse Jackson Were in a significant chapter in the club's history. The official unveiling ceremony took place at the ZESCO United Secretariat in Ndola this morning, symbolizing a triumphant reunion between Were and Team Ya Ziko. The Striker, known for his goal-scoring ability, initially joined ZESCO United in 2016 from Tusker FC and played an instrumental role in securing four league titles, two ABSA CUP Championships, and two Charity Shield honors during his five-year stint. He was the club's all-time leading goal scorer with an impressive 100 goals before leaving. Were has made his return to the club after a brief spell with Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club from January 2022, where he played a pivotal role in securing a commendable 7th position finish in the 2021/2022 MTN Super League. ZESCO United expressed excitement at Were's return and look forward to witnessing another century milestone during his stay at the club.
