Following their disappointing 2-1 away loss to Pumas, Juarez Femenil were looking to get back to winning ways in the young MX Liga Clausura season. And it took Zambian international Prisca Chilufya just 24 minutes to open the scoring with a thunderbolt strike, sending Juarez on a rampage. By halftime, Juarez were already two goals up thanks to Jasmine Casarez's 45th-minute goal. The second half was a masterclass from Juarez as they added three more goals to their two from the first half. Alondra Blanco, Sayuri Watari, and Norma Duarte scored in the 56th, 64th, and 70th minutes, respectively, to secure an emphatic victory for the home side. Santos Laguna managed a consolation goal in the 82nd minute through Danielle Garcia, but it was far too little too late for the bottom-placed side, who are yet to record a win this season after five games. Juarez's win moves them up to fifth place in the league standings with eight points. Chilufya will be hoping to build on her performance ahead of national team duty with Zambia in February, where they face Ghana in a two-legged Olympic qualifier.
