Chipata United Head Coach Esau Chalo Zulu expressed his satisfaction with his side's performance in a rescheduled match against Kitwe United, which ended 0-0 on Saturday in Kitwe. Chipata United, who were granted time by the Football Association of Zambia to address off-field issues and missed two fixtures, returned to the pitch this weekend with an away fixture in Kitwe. Coach Zulu, speaking after the match, highlighted his happiness with his team's performance despite the challenging nature of the game. "It was not an easy game, but at least we managed to handle them on their own backyard," Zulu said in a post-match interview. He commended his players for their resilience and ability to cope with the pressure of playing away from home. The draw saw Chipata United remain second from bottom with 19 points, level with Kafue Eagles and National Assembly who are in the safety zone of the relegation battle. Zulu emphasized the importance of securing points in every game, regardless of location, to ensure their survival in the league. "The only way of fighting relegation is to pick points each game we play, be it away or home," he declared. The coach lauded his players for executing his game plan and contributing to a positive result. "I'm happy with my players' performance, and I'm glad they played according to my instructions," Zulu stated. A draw or a win for Chipata United in their next game against Quattro Kalumbila on Sunday in another rescheduled fixture will see them escape relegation. United became the first team from the eastern part of the country to play national league football following their qualification to the league in a single final tie against Livingstone Pirates to fill the place left by Buidcon Football Club following their deregistration by FIFA and FAZ. However, they have found the league challenging but are hoping to avoid relegation and build on next season.
