The Minister of Youth, Sports and Arts has appealed to Zambian football fans to exercise patience and grant the current Chipolopolo squad another opportunity to develop as it was their inaugural participation in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). According to a report by the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC), Hon. Elvis Nkandu said the team lacked experience and exposure which they have acquired now. Hon. Nkandu urged the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to retain the technical bench and expressed confidence in their ability to secure AFCON 2025 and World Cup qualifications. He further advised Coach Avram Grant to explore for additional talent abroad with Zambian ties and encouraged the infusion of young players to strengthen the squad. Meanwhile, the Minister has assured of continued government support and President Hakainde Hichilema's commitment to resource provision for training and athlete compensation.
