Spanish side Real Betis are set to make a late push for Zambian international Patson Daka on loan from Leicester City before the transfer window slams shut at midnight tonight. Bettis, currently sitting seventh in La Liga, are looking to bolster their attacking options following the departure of Borja Iglesias to Bayer Leverkusen until the summer. Manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to find a replacement, and Daka has emerged as a potential target for the 2021/22 Copa del Rey winners. According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Betis have contacted Leicester to discuss a loan deal, but time is running out as they only have until tonight to finalize any agreements. However, reports from England suggest Leicester City might be hesitant to let Daka go. Manager Enzo Maresca is reported to be keen on keeping the Zambian striker due to injuries to Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho, leaving inexperienced Thomas Cannon as the only other option. Maresca reportedly prefers to offload Iheanacho, with Vardy nearing retirement at the end of the season. Daka has made seven goal contribution for Leicester City since making his full debut in the Championship in December.
