Chipolopolo Boys striker Francisco Mwepu saw limited action once again for his Spanish lower league side Atlético Sanluqueño on Sunday, coming on as a late substitute in their 3-0 home win over CF Intercity. Mwepu, who has lost his starting spot to Nacho Ramon, was introduced in the 77th minute, marking the third consecutive game where he has been brought off the bench. This limited playing time follows two previous appearances where he entered in the second half with less than seven minutes remaining, upon returning from the national team camp in Lusaka with Zambia. Despite the reduced role, the Cadiz loanee remains Atlético Sanluqueño's top scorer in the Spanish Primera Federación Group 2 with seven goals to his name. However, concerns are rising that the lack of playing time could hinder his return to his parent club, Spanish La Liga side Cádiz CF, where he came from on loan. Mwepu's loan spell is set to expire in June this year, coinciding with his parent club's precarious position in La Liga, currently sitting in the relegation zone. This raises questions about whether he will be able to secure enough playing time to impress and earn a spot back in the top division. With his future seemingly uncertain, Mwepu's performance in the remaining months with Atlético Sanluqueño will be crucial in determining his next move.
