Leicester City returned to winning ways in the English Championship on Tuesday, defeating Sunderland 1-0 away from home. Jamie Vardy's 13th-minute goal proved to be the difference, ending the Foxes' three-game losing streak. Zambian international Patson Daka was dropped to the bench by manager Enzo Maresca following Leicester's defeat to QPR over the weekend, where he had started the match. In Daka's absence, Maresca opted for the experience of veteran striker Vardy, and the decision paid off early as the former Premier League Golden Boot winner found the net. Leicester City, who had held a nine-point lead at the top of the Championship table, had seen that lead reduced to three points in recent weeks due to a string of poor results. Tuesday's victory keeps them three points clear of second-placed Ipswich Town, who are on 78 points compared to Leicester's 81. Daka will be hoping to be involved again when Leicester travel to face Hull City away from home in their next Match.
