Roger Kola has returned to Zanaco Football Club after his stint with Tanzanian side Azam FC came to an end in 2023. Kola, who left Zanaco for Azam in 2021, became a free agent after the Tanzanian club opted not to renew his contract. Talks with Nkana Football Club last August fell through, leaving Kola without a club until now. Nkana had been interested in signing Kola after missing out on Friday Samu, who is back with Green Buffaloes following a short spell in South Africa. However, Kola has opted to rejoin Zanaco and has been included straight into the matchday squad for their Saturday encounter against Konkola Blades in week 25 of the MTN FAZ Super League. Wedson Nyirenda's Zanaco have struggled for form this season, winning only seven times in 24 games. They currently sit eighth in the league table with 32 points, having lost six and drawn eleven games. The return of Kola will be a boost for Zanaco as they push to return to winning ways.
