Zambia have moved up to 14th position on the medal table at the 2023 African Games in Accra, Ghana, as of March 13th from being bottom at some point. Team Zambia secured one Gold medal yesterday through judoka Steven Mung’andu, another bronze was earned by judoka Simon Zulu, and a bronze in swimming was achieved by Mia Phiri, bringing the total medal count to three. According to the medal table released by the African Games, Egypt leads with 53 Gold, 21 Silver, and 20 Bronze medals, followed by Nigeria in second place with 22 Gold, 10 Silver, and 16 Bronze. Algeria holds the third position with 18 Gold, 23 Silver, and 25 Bronze. Zambians are eagerly anticipating more medals in other sports codes at the games, including athletics, boxing, and taekwondo, which are yet to be played.
