The Zambian Women's Hockey League is undergoing a significant transformation! In an effort to foster tougher competition and cultivate a deeper talent pool, the league has been restructured according to comments by National Team Coach Floyd Chomba in an interview with ZNBC. The league will now be divided into two tiers. Established teams will compete in the top league, while developing clubs will play in a second tier. Coach Chomba believes this split will encourage growth within the sport. Established teams will push each other to new heights, while developing clubs will have a dedicated space to hone their skills and gain valuable experience The ultimate goal of this restructuring is to identify and nurture the best talent in Zambia. With a wider pool of strong players from both tiers, Coach Chomba is confident they can build a more competitive National Team that can excel in upcoming major competitions.
