Copper Queens vice skipper Grace Chanda is set to return to competitive football for the first time since suffering from an illness prior to the World Cup last year in Australia and New Zealand. The 2022 WAFCON bronze medal winning skipper hasn't seen action since last year and her return to club side Madrid CFF in Spain's La Liga F is a welcome sign for both club and country. Chanda took to social media on Sunday morning to share photos from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka before her departure for Spain. According to reports, the Zambian attacker's return was delayed due to paperwork issues despite her full recovery. Chanda could be in contention for a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics later this year if Zambia manages to overcome Morocco in a two-legged affair next month in the final round of qualifiers. This would be a back-to-back appearance for Zambia at the Olympics having participated in Tokyo 2021.
