Following the Zambia U17 2-0 win over Uganda in the first leg of the 2024 FIFA World Cup third round qualifiers which took place at Heroes Stadium yesterday, Head Coach Carol Kanyemba says the team is now focused on amplifying their offensive plays to create more scoring opportunities in the return leg. Speaking during a post match conference, Kanyemba said the team will not relax adding that they will be heading to Uganda to play for a win at all costs. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong mentality on the road to achieve this goal. Additionally, the coach expressed delight on how the team did not concede any goals as they plan to unleash a diverse range of shooting tactics in the rematch. Meanwhile, Uganda's Coach Sheryl Botes expressed disappointment in her team's inability to capitalize on scoring chances in the first leg and criticized the officiating quality due to some decisions that were made by match officials. Despite this setback, Botes remains hopeful for a turnaround in the second leg and has urged her players to exhibit greater determination and goal-scoring abilities in the second leg to be played on the 17th of May, 2024 In Uganda.
