Grace Chanda marked her return to club football in emphatic fashion, scoring Madrid CFF's fifth goal in their 6-1 demolition of Valencia. Chanda, who hadn't featured for the club since May last year due to an illness sustained while on national team duty, was named on the substitute bench. She entered the fray with eight minutes remaining and wasted no time making her mark, finding the net in the second minute of stoppage time. The Zambian international's absence stretched back to a match against Barcelona in May 2023. The illness forced her to miss the national team's historic World Cup debut and kept her sidelined for several months. Since her return to the club two months ago, Chanda has seen limited involvement with the Madrid CFF squad. Her first action came in a national team match against Morocco. This scoring return in club football could signal a resurgence for Chanda and a return to more regular playing time in Spain's La Liga F.
