The National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) is set to host the 'Safe and Inclusive Sport Seminar: Policy to Action' on behalf of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) Zone VI in Lusaka from May 22–25, 2024. This significant event will bring together delegates from 10 countries across Southern Africa to discuss crucial topics related to safeguarding practices in sports. The 'Safe and Inclusive Sport Seminar' aims to promote a safe and inclusive environment in sports, free from harassment, abuse, and discrimination. The seminar will focus on translating policy into action, ensuring that National Olympic Committees (NOCs) in the region are equipped to implement effective safeguarding measures ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and beyond. During the seminar, delegates will engage in discussions and workshops on topics such as: Safeguarding athletes from harassment and abuse. Promoting inclusivity and diversity in sports. Addressing discrimination and gender equality. Implementing effective policies and procedures. The event will provide a platform for NOCs to share best practices, challenges, and solutions, ensuring a collaborative approach to creating a safe and inclusive sports environment.
