KATETE RANGERS REWARDED K20,000 FOR WINNING THE PROVINCIAL TOPFLIGHT LEAGUE The Eastern Province FAZ EXCO has awarded Katete Rangers a total of K20,000, including a trophy and medals, for emerging victorious in the 2023/24 Provincial Topflight League. Team director Khalid Ishmail received a check for K15,000 from Provincial FAZ Vice Chairperson Patrick Nyirenda, with the remaining amount allocated to medals and trophies. Nyirenda emphasized the executive committee's commitment to supporting teams in their journey to the national league, citing the example of Chipata United. He revealed that K100,000 awaits Katete Rangers at the playoffs, scheduled for June 16–21, 2024, in Lusaka. Katete Rangers' head coach, Cornwell Munyati, expressed confidence in his team's ability to break through to the FAZ Division One national league. He praised his players' capabilities and assured fans that they would not disappoint in the playoffs. Team captain Aston Phiri stated that winning the competitive provincial division one league gives them hope for a successful transition to the national league. The team held a celebratory meeting with their chairperson, Chisoni Sakala, and director, Khalid Esmail, acknowledging the unwavering support from FAZ EXCO, stakeholders, and fans.
