ZAMBIA NATIONAL MIXED MARTIAL ARTS TEAM MEETS WITH HIGH COMMISSION IN NAMIBIA The Zambia National Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Team, currently in Namibia to compete in the Africa Championship, had a successful and uplifting meeting with the High Commission of Zambia in Windhoek. The team, consisting of 15 talented athletes, is set to compete in seven weight categories from May 25th to June 2nd, 2024. The meeting was attended by representatives of the High Commission, who expressed their strong support and encouragement for the team. The discussions focused on the importance of sports in fostering national pride and unity, as well as the positive impact of MMA on Zambia's youth and sports culture. "We are incredibly grateful for the support from the High Commission of Zambia in Namibia. This meeting has bolstered our spirits and reinforced our commitment to making our country proud at the Africa Championship," said Benjamin Bush, President of MMA Zambia. In addition to the High Commission's support, the team extended their heartfelt thanks to their generous sponsors: Viva Med, Big Tree Beverages and Wildcat Energy, IMMIA Finance, Asphalt Roads Zambia, Mukalya Game Lodge, and the numerous kind individuals who have made donations. "Your contributions have been instrumental in making our participation possible," added Bush. The representatives of the High Commission commended the athletes for their dedication and assured them of the country's full support as they aim for gold medals against the best fighters from across the continent. The team is optimistic and motivated, ready to compete.
