AGE CHEATING SCANDAL ROCKS MARAMBA STARS: SCOUT MWEEMBA AND CLUB REGISTRAR CHISENGA SUSPENDED A shocking case of age cheating has led to the suspension of Scout Mweemba, also known as "Kagawa," and Club Registrar Brian Chisenga of Maramba Stars for the entire 2024–2025 soccer season. The scandal came to light when it was discovered that Mweemba had used two different National Registration Cards (NRCs) for registration, manipulating his age by a whopping 10 years. The original NRC number revealed that Mweemba was born in 1992, but for the current season, he used a different NRC showing a birth year of 2002. This blatant case of age cheating, dual registration, and forgery has led to severe consequences for Maramba Stars. The club has been fined K1,500 for fielding an ineligible player, and New Monze Swallows, who lost to Maramba Stars by a goal to nil, have been awarded three points and three goals. This decision serves as a stark warning to all players and team registrars to refrain from forgery, dual registration, and identity alterations. Scout Mweemba's actions are a clear violation of the rules and regulations governing the sport, and his suspension sends a strong message that such behavior will not be tolerated. Club Registrar Brian Chisenga's suspension also highlights the importance of ensuring the integrity of player registration and documentation. This incident serves as a reminder that age-old cheating has no place in football and that upholding the values of fair play and honesty is essential for the growth and development of the sport.
