Kennedy Musonda's Young Africans Sports Club (Yanga) has clinched the 2023/24 CRDB Bank Federation Cup by defeating Azam FC 6-5 on penalties. This victory secures a double for Yanga, as they also won the Tanzanian Premier League title this season. The match between the two sides ended in a goalless draw after regulation time. Despite 30 minutes of extra time, neither team could score, leading to a penalty shootout where Musonda and his team emerged victorious. Both Yanga and Azam FC will represent Tanzania in the CAF Champions League, having finished first and second in the league. Musonda, who now boasts two trophies this season, is set to join the Chipolopolo camp for training as they prepare to face Morocco on June 8 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He aims to replicate his club success at the national level.
