Graven Chitalu, 41, withdraws from active football after playing his final career match on the season's final match day, a 1-1 draw against Green Buffaloes FC. Chitalu has played for numerous clubs, including Konkola Blades, Roan United, Indeni FC, Forest Rangers, Power Dynamos, and Trident FC, among others. Chitalu joined Trident FC in the 2023 January transfer window from Ideni FC, which saw him settle in quickly for his new team and end that season as the team's top scorer. One of his most memorable career highlights this season was the season opener goal he scored against Kanshanshi Dynamos, making him the first player to score for Trident FC in the Super League. He took to social media and said, "Finally, it's done. I simply want to say that it is time for me to thank God Almighty and all of my wonderful supporters, as well as all of the team officials I have worked with in this nation and abroad today. I am hanging up my boots and embarking on a new path, and I am grateful to Trident Executive for providing me with this opportunity to begin my new career as a coach. May the Lord continue to bless you all." We wish Chitalu all the best in his future endeavours. Thank you Graven Chitalu. For more sports news and updates on sports in Zambia, follow Zed sport.
