The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has invited 54 under-17 boys to a camp before the Ivory Coast Invitational event. According to a circular signed by the FAZ general secretary, the 54 boys should have been born in 2008 to comply with the invite tournament rules. The 54 boys were identified during the national selections that preceded the Morocco under-15 invitational tournament. A panel of national selectors scoured the entire country for under-15 talent while also doubling their selection of youngsters born in 2008. The Zambia under-15 national team competed in the Morocco tournament in March 2024 as part of FAZ's long-standing commitment to exposing junior teams to international competition. Selected players will begin training in Lusaka on June 9, with the number expected to be reduced before leaving for Ivory Coast. Finally, the roster reflects the provincial diversity that football fans have been advocating for. However, keep in mind that this is not the final score, and the numbers will be cut. Will the rich diversity be jeopardized?
