The Zambian athletic team has arrived in Douala, Cameroon, for the 23rd CAA Senior Championships, which will take place from June 21 to June 26, 2024, with the Olympic Games in Paris only 39 days away. Muzala Samukonga, the reigning African Champion, is among the team's impressive lineup, which also includes David Mulenga, Emeldah Kapunjila, Patrick Nyambe, Rhoda Njobvu, Quincy Malekani, Niddy Mingilishi, and Kennedy Luchembe. The athletes will compete for individual medals while also attempting to qualify for the Olympics. The men's 4x400m relay team, currently ranked 16th in the Olympic Qualification standings, hopes to improve on their personal best time of 2:59.12, set at the African Games, to secure a spot at the Paris Games. The team is well-positioned for success under the leadership of Coach Douglas Kalembo and Kezzias Nyendwa. And the national Olympics of Zambia wished the team the best of luck: "We wish them all the best at the African Championships and look forward to their performances!"
