The Bravehearts International Basketball Championship (BIBC), known for its dependability, meticulous planning, and generous rewards, is back! It is scheduled to begin on July 5, 2024, and will last four days in Malawi's capital, Lilongwe. BIBC has established itself as the region's premier tournament. Modeled after the much-loved but now-defunct EIIBT (Eswathin), BIBC began in 2017, with the then-mighty Harare City Hornets and Zambia's NAPSA Breeze emerging victorious. BIBC and Zambian ZBIT have withstood the test of time, with the former growing to become one of the largest and most popular. The sole hiccup in the last two years was the cancellation last year, when various sports departments, i.e. SRCs in several countries, including Zimbabwe, prohibited teams from traveling to Malawi. Zambian teams, on the other hand, have become regular competitors, and this time around, two Matero clubs, Magic, Zambia's national champions, the tournament's defending champions Warriors, and ZIBT hosts Munali Suns, are competing on the men's side. Unfortunately, the tournament will only feature one female team. Lusaka Basket Queens are also traveling. There's still more information about the tournament pending to be released. More updates to be given on this tournament. Don't forget to follow Zed sport, the home of all sports news in Zambia.
