Chipego Simukuwa is a young MMA fighter who stumbled upon the sport and fell in love with it. He recently had a bout at the Impact Championship (IMPACT FC). The talented individual interacted with Zed Sport Media in an exclusive interview to share his personal experience at the Impact Championship and some ocean drops of his fighting career.   Chipego mistakenly found himself in the MMA scene when a good friend of his told him about the sport and asked him to join. At the time, Chipego had his sights set on and focused on karate, which he excelled in very well. However, as his comrade insisted he try MMA, Chipego eventually succumbed to peer pressure, and that became the genesis of his revolution.    When speaking with Zed Sport, Chipego described himself as a young but stubborn underdog. He is passionate about the sport and aspires to be the next big thing in Zambia. He boasts a record of winning all his bouts by TKO and never by judges decision. Through training and mentorship at the Ulemu Fighting Academy, Chipego was privy to represent Zambia along with compatriot Chomba Mwandila at the Impact Championships in Congo. Chomba was victorious in his bout after winning by TKO, while Chipego lost by a judge's decision.    Chipego narrated his experience in the bout against a larger and more experienced opponent, Jeremy Kazadi. "He was larger and stronger than me, but I continued to fight. I gave him more strikes than I received, but it was a tough match that resulted in a judge's decision." "Jeremy followed me after the fight and told me he wanted a rematch, which I accepted.".   When asked what's next for him, he told us that he will be focused on his next bout, the rematch against Jeremy, as he also plans to work on his techniques and striking prowess. The future is only bright for this young star.   Follow Zed Sport, your home for comprehensive reporting on all sports in Zambia.
