Coach Florence Mwila has an impressive record as the acting head coach of the Zambia Copper Queens, winning four out of six games, drawing one, losing one, scoring 16 goals, and conceding just six. Mwila was appointed as the assistant coach of the Copper Queens in 2021 and has played an important role in their success. She later clinched the 2022 COSAFA Women's Cup as an acting head coach. However, her most significant achievement was Zambia's historic qualification for their maiden FIFA Women's World Cup. The Copper Queens secured an automatic ticket to the global spectacle after clinching the bronze medal at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations. Mwila's spotlight moment as the head coach came when she took charge of the team for the back-to-back friendlies against Morocco during Coach Bruce Mwape's absence. During the COSAFA games, she is usually the head coach as Bruce Mwape serves as the team's technical director. Under her guidance, the locally assembled Copper Queens showcased their determination in the COSAFA Women's Cup. The team managed to defeat Angola and Comoros in the group stage with a scoreline of 3-1 and 5-1, respectively. They then secured a spot in the semifinals where they defeated Zimbabwe by a goal to nil to reach the tournament's final. While the final match saw a loss to Malawi with a scoreline of 2-1, Mwila's record shines through considering the limited experience of her squad. Coach Florence Mwila will now aim to continue her successful journey, steering the Copper Queens towards another Olympic qualification and further glory at the WAFCON.
