The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has expelled LYSA METRO Football Club from participating in the Southern Province Division One football with immediate effect for failing to honour four league fixtures and not paying referees' transport refunds during the first game. This comes after several verbal and written warnings issued to them by the Association. In a circular dated 18th October 2023, LYSA has been expelled for violating Article 15 of the FAZ Constitution, but they have been given a chance to reapply to play in Division Four (District). FAZ has also reminded other clubs that no club should have more than three walkovers in a single season. Additionally, FAZ has informed all Southern Province Division One teams that LYSA-METRO's slot will remain vacant, as this division should have had only 18 teams. However, the FAZ executive committee has decided that all Division One clubs will be awarded three points and three goals against LYSA-METRO for all the first-round games only. For the second round, no team will receive any points.
