Chipata United have taken a significant step towards making history in Eastern Province as they close in on promotion to the FAZ National League Division One for the first time. In a thrilling encounter at the Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka, Chipata United fought back twice from a goal down to secure a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Quattro Kalumbila. The match started ominously for Chipata United as they conceded a penalty in the 12th minute, with Matthews Banda converting from the spot after a handball by defender Titus in the box. However, Chipata United responded quickly through striker Brian Sakala, who unleashed a spectacular long-range effort in the 27th minute to level the scores. Unfortunately, their lapse in concentration allowed Daniel Mingoshi to put Quattro Kalumbila back in front just before halftime. After the break, Chipata United displayed renewed determination and managed to equalize again in the 60th minute through the impressive Yesaya Banda. With this result, Chipata United now sit at the top of Group A with 7 points from three games, having secured two victories and a draw. Heading into their final group stage match tomorrow, Chipata United only require a draw to guarantee a top-two finish, which will secure their place in next season's FAZ National Division One league.
