Zambia has moved up one spot in the latest FIFA ranking, from 82nd to 81st in the world, despite losing their friendly match to Egypt in the last minute of stoppage time. The team also recorded a 3-0 victory over Uganda in their last FIFA window, with goals from Patson Daka and Fashion Sakala. Zambia's impressive performance against Egypt, even in defeat, is a testament to the progress the team is making under the guidance of coach Avram Grant. The team is still under development, but they are starting to show their potential and are capable of competing against the best teams on the continent. Zambia's next matches under the FIFA calendar will be against Congo Brazzaville and Niger in the World Cup qualifiers in November. The team will play Congo Brazzaville at home and Niger away. Coach Avram Grant will be targeting continued improvement on the FIFA ranking when they play these two fixtures. If Zambia can perform well in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, they will be in a good position to compete favorably at the Africa Cup of Nations finals in January next year in Ivory Coast. The team will also be hoping to improve their FIFA ranking even further and break into the top 50 in the world.
