Zambia Women's National Team defender Jackline Nkole is excited to be recalled to the team setup. Nkole was part of the Copper Queens' international camp in Germany but failed to make the final cut for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, which will be co-hosted in Australia and New Zealand. The Indeni Roses defender told Faz media that she believes her call-up is due to the hard work she has put in at her club since returning from Germany. "I feel great, I feel nice. I am very happy to be back with the National Team (after missing the FIFA Women's World Cup). I went back to my club to work hard for me to be back here," she said. Nkole believes that the upcoming friendlies against Morocco are important matches as they will help the team get in shape ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympic Qualifiers against Mali. "These games are very important. If we win, we can move up in the (FIFA) rankings and again we are preparing for the games ahead like the Olympic qualifiers and the COSAFA Women's Championship," she said. The first of the two matches will be played at the multipurpose Père Jégo Stadium in Casablanca on Friday, with the second fixture taking place at Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat four days later. The Copper Queens will be hoping to achieve positive results from the two friendlies and build momentum heading into the Olympic Qualifiers and COSAFA tournament.
